Punjab & Sind Bank Recruitment – Lateral Recruitment of Local Bank Officers in JMGS I

Punjab & Sind Bank (PSB) is a leading Indian public sector bank headquartered in New Delhi. Founded in 1908 by Sunder Singh Majitha, Sardar Tarlochan Singh, and Bhai Vir Singh, it has grown from its origins in Amritsar to a national network of over 1,800 branches and 1,000 ATMs as of 2026.

Punjab & Sind Bank has announced a lateral recruitment drive for 1,000 Local Bank Officer (LBO) positions in JMGS-I across various Indian states .

 The application process is entirely online, beginning on March 31, 2026, and concluding on April 20, 2026. Candidates must be aged between 20 and 30 years (as of March 1, 2026), with standard age relaxations for reserved categories such as SC/ST (5 years) and OBC (3 years). Eligibility requires a graduation degree in any discipline and a minimum of 18 months of experience as an officer in a Scheduled Commercial or Regional Rural Bank.

The selection process involves a written test—covering English, Banking Knowledge, General Awareness, and Computer Aptitude—followed by screening, a personal interview, and a local language proficiency test. Final merit is calculated with a 70:30 weightage between the written exam and the interview. Selected officers will be appointed on a regular basis with a pay scale of ₹48,480 – ₹85,920 and are required to execute a service bond of three years. Notably, these officers are not eligible for inter-state transfers or specific head office postings until they complete 12 years of service or reach the SMGS-IV grade.
