The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE).

The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE)  is the premier national-level entrance assessment for admission to undergraduate engineering and architecture programs across India. It is divided into two distinct stages: JEE Main and JEE Advanced.

 

JEE Main
Conducted by the NTA, this is the first stage and qualifies candidates for JEE Advanced, with admissions to NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs. 
  • Structure: Usually held twice yearly in January and April in computer-based (CBT) mode.
  • Papers: Covers B.E./B.Tech (Paper 1), B.Arch (Paper 2A), and B.Planning (Paper 2B) using Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
  • Eligibility: Candidates can appear for three consecutive years following their Class 12 passing year. 
JEE Advanced
The exclusive, highly competitive gateway to the IITs, organized by one of the zonal IITs. 
  • Eligibility: Only the top 250,000 JEE Main candidates.
  • Format: Two compulsory, rigorous papers (Paper 1 & 2) on the same day.
  • Attempts: Max two attempts over two consecutive years. 
Key Admission Requirements
  • Qualification: Pass/appearing in Class 12 with Physics and Math.
  • Marks: Generally 75% in Class 12 (65% for SC/ST) is required for admission.
  • Age: No age limit for JEE Main.

JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) परीक्षेची माहिती
JEE ही भारतातील नामांकित अभियांत्रिकी (Engineering) आणि वास्तुशास्त्र (Architecture) महाविद्यालयांमध्ये प्रवेश घेण्यासाठी घेतली जाणारी राष्ट्रीय स्तरावरील प्रवेश परीक्षा आहे. ही परीक्षा दोन टप्प्यांत घेतली जाते:
 
१. JEE Main (मुख्य)
नॅशनल टेस्टिग एजन्सी (NTA) द्वारे ही परीक्षा वर्षातून दोनदा (साधारणपणे जानेवारी आणि एप्रिलमध्ये) घेतली जाते.
  • प्रवेश: या परीक्षेच्या गुणांनुसार NITs, IIITs आणि इतर सरकारी तांत्रिक संस्थांमध्ये प्रवेश मिळतो.
  • स्वरूप: ही परीक्षा संगणकावर आधारित (CBT) असते. यामध्ये प्रामुख्याने भौतिकशास्त्र (Physics), रसायनशास्त्र (Chemistry) आणि गणित (Mathematics) या विषयांवर प्रश्न विचारले जातात.
  • पात्रता: १२ वी उत्तीर्ण किंवा १२ वीत असलेले विद्यार्थी सलग ३ वर्षे ही परीक्षा देऊ शकतात.
२. JEE Advanced (प्रगत)
JEE Main मध्ये उत्कृष्ट गुण मिळवणारे पहिले २,५०,००० विद्यार्थी या परीक्षेसाठी पात्र ठरतात. ही परीक्षा आयआयटी (IITs) मधील प्रवेशासाठी घेतली जाते.
  • स्वरूप: ही परीक्षा अत्यंत कठीण मानली जाते. यात एकाच दिवशी दोन अनिवार्य पेपर (Paper 1 आणि Paper 2) द्यावे लागतात.
  • संधी: ही परीक्षा आयुष्यात फक्त दोनदाच (दोन सलग वर्षात) देता येते.
महत्त्वाच्या अटी:
  • पात्रता: १२ वी मध्ये भौतिकशास्त्र आणि गणित हे विषय असणे आवश्यक आहे.
  • गुण: IIT/NIT मध्ये प्रवेशासाठी १२ वीत किमान ७५% गुण (SC/ST साठी ६५%) असणे आवश्यक आहे.
  • वय: JEE Main परीक्षेसाठी कोणतीही वयोमर्यादा नाही.
